Our team of 2 board-certified fellowship-trained gastroenterologists has medical degrees in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. Each doctor’s field of special interest allows the GI associates to provide the proper diagnosis and treatment for the full spectrum of GI symptoms to help restore people to their optimal health. Digestive Diseases Associates’ caring GI doctors are able to offer superior GI care because of their commitment to both state-of-the-art techniques and a “patient-first philosophy”.
Dr. Farrukh Saeed, M.D.
After graduating at the top of his medical school class in 1981, Dr. Saeed completed his medical residency at Cabrini Medical Center in NY and then his gastroenterology fellowship at Jamaica Hospital, NY in 1989. Since July 1989, he as devoted himself full-time to his practice here in Brandon. Dr. Saeed specializes in all gastrointestinal problems (e.g. GERD, ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, liver, pancreatic, & gall bladder disorders, GI cancer diagnostics, etc) and is an expert in the full range of GI procedures (EGD, colonoscopies, ERCP, stents etc)
In addition, he has been active in physician leadership roles for 18 years, including Chief of Staff at Brandon Regional Hospital from 2018-2019.
He is on staff at Brandon Regional Hospital, South Bay Hospital, Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital South and Brandon Surgery Center.
Dr. Saeed is an avid long-distance bicyclist. He likes watching football and hockey and enjoys hiking and vacations with his family.
Dr. Farooque Dastgir, M.D.
Farooque Dastgir, M.D. joined our practice in July 2009. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Long Island College Hospital in NY and Residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Florida College of Medicine, Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Dastgir specializes in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatitis, GERD, GI problems and Bowel Disorders, Colon Cancer Screenings, Liver and Pancreas Disorders.
Dr. Dastgir is welcoming new patients and he has hospital privileges at Brandon Regional Hospital, South Bay Hospital, and Brandon Surgery Center.
Dr. Dastgir is an animal lover who rescues & rehabilitates cats.

MSN, APRN-BC, RN
Martie has been practicing as an APRN since 1996 and worked as RN for years prior. She joined DDA 11/2008. She had worked as an APRN previously in primary care and gastroenterology.
Martie earned her ASN and BSN from Indiana State University then her MSN from Indiana University. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as adult nurse practitioner. She is licensed by the state of Florida as an RN and APRN.
Martie is originally from Indiana and relocated to Florida in 1996 with her son. She is active in Tae Kwon Do martial arts, bowling, chapel activities and helps serve the homeless and needy.
MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Jennifer joined the DDA team in 2018. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner licensed by the Florida Board of Nursing. Jennifer attended the University of South Florida graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She worked as a Registered Nurse at a level 2 trauma hospital for 14 years before deciding to further her education. In 2017, she graduated with honors from South University in Tampa with Master of Science in Nursing. Jennifer is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Florida Nurses Association.
Jennifer enjoys raising two boys and is a craft beer connoisseur.
MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Joyce has been practicing as an APRN since 2009. She joined Digestive Diseases Associates of Tampa Bay in November 2010 with experience in Cardiology and Primary Care Medicine.
Joyce earned her BSN from The University of South Florida and MSN from The University of Tampa and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Family Practice. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Nursing. She is licensed by The State of Florida as an RN and APRN and is an active member of the Tampa Bay Advanced Practice Nurses Council.
Joyce is originally from Boston, Massachusetts and relocated to Florida in 1998. She loves European football. Her favorite player is the captain of Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos. Joyce enjoys going home to Boston to visit her son and eat good food.
